Disclosure

The articles written for BucketTripper are based on both independently financed trips and on trips subsidized wholly or in part by tourism bureaus and other travel product providers.

We adhere to the Society of American Travel Writers code of ethics: There is no implied quid-pro-quo for positive coverage: We tell it like we see it.

We accept subsidized travel when the destination coincides with our editorial goals. We do this so that we can guarantee that we have “been there and done that,” and that our reportage is based on first hand observation, not on someone else’s experience or a press release.

Regardless of how a trip is financed, our writers bring back the most objective and useful information possible so you can make the right decision about your upcoming adventures.

All of the articles posted at BucketTripper are based on our writers’ first-hand experience. Our writers have visited every destination on this website.

Our site accepts advertising from tourism providers and Google ads. All advertising is clearly designated as such.

We do not accept free content in exchange for links. We do not accept content from tourism providers unless it is specifically marked “sponsored content.” We do not sell in-text links.

We do subscribe to the service Skimlinks, which pays us for clicks on certain inline links. For example, a writer may write about a cruise on XYZ cruise line, and link to the cruise company’s site. In some cases, that company may be affiliated with Skimlinks, in which case, we would be paid a fee every time the link is clicked. However, our writers do not have access to information regarding which links pay and which don’t: They choose to insert links based only on whether the link pertains to the article and will give the reader more useful information. The decision to include a link in our articles is wholly separate from advertising considerations.

We accept comments and ratings from the general public who have signed in as members. We make no warranties about their comments. We reserve the right to remove any posts we deem offensive for any reason, including profanity or conflict of interest.
